Bill Payment Options

As of January, 2008, the following bill payment options are available.

  1. Checks may be mailed in, delivered to any Savings Bank of Maine branch, delivered to our office in person, or dropped off in an envelope at 12 Williams Street after hours.

  2. Cash may be given to teller at Savings Bank of Maine branches, or delivered to our office in person.  Please do not mail cash or drop it in the slot at 12 Williams Street.

  3. You may use your own bank to pay your bills for you using their electronic pay options.  Each bank has a different method, but most banks in our service area provide an option to pay from your account to the District without mailing a check in yourself.  Some banks charge a nominal fee for this service while others have no fees.  This option is very popular and very easy since it summarizes all bill payment activity monthly.  Contact your financial institution for more details.

Credit card payments are not available at this time.  We will be researching this option in 2008.

Online payments using credit cards are not available at this time.  We will be researching this through our bill mailing vendor to identify whether or not there are opportunities to make this happen.  We expect to have a decision on this in 2008 as well.
