Wastewater

Augusta Water and Sanitary District operates a sewer collection system, stormwater system and a secondary wastewater treatment plant that accepts wastewater from four other communities.

Wastewater treatment is regulated under the Clean Water Act and enforced by the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.
